The National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah), in cooperation with the General Directorate of Agricultural Extension, conducted a field day in Al-Kharj entitled “Best Agricultural Practices for Promising Crops," as part of its ongoing efforts to transfer research-based knowledge and apply best agricultural practices, contributing to improved agricultural productivity and enhanced sector sustainability.
The field day aimed to introduce the most prominent promising crops with strong productive and economic potential, and to highlight best agricultural practices for their cultivation and management. This included fertilization and irrigation methods, improving the efficiency of natural resource use, enhancing production quality, as well as discussing field challenges and appropriate scientific solutions.
The event was attended by a number of specialists, researchers, agricultural engineers, and farmers. Participants reviewed the results of applied research conducted by the Center in the field of promising crops, followed by a field tour to observe experimental trials and practical applications, and to address farmers' inquiries.
The organization of this field day comes as part of the Center's applied research efforts aimed at linking scientific research with on-ground application, developing agricultural practices, and increasing agricultural production efficiency, thereby contributing to the achievement of the objectives of the National Agriculture Strategy and strengthening food security in the Kingdom.
