The National Center for Sustainable Agriculture Research and Development (Estidamah) organized a field day in Al Dilam
Governorate titled “Seasonal Forages: Crop Productivity and Field Applications,” in collaboration with the General Directorate of
Agricultural Extension at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. The event was held as part of Estidamah’s efforts to
enhance the productivity and cultivation practices of seasonal forage crops across the Kingdom.
The field day aimed to highlight the productivity of seasonal forage crops and showcase key field applications that contribute to
improving production efficiency through the adoption of modern agricultural practices and advanced technologies, thereby
optimizing the use of natural resources and enhancing the quality of agricultural outputs.
The program featured a number of practical demonstrations and field models implemented by the Center, reflecting the outcomes of
agricultural research in the field of seasonal forages. It also provided technical guidance to farmers on best cultivation and crop
management practices to increase productivity and improve economic viability.
The event was attended by a number of specialists and stakeholders, offering a platform for exchanging expertise and discussing
key challenges associated with seasonal forage production, as well as presenting practical solutions based on research findings and
field trial results.
The organization of this field day is part of Estidamah’s programs aimed at transferring agricultural knowledge and strengthening
extension services, thereby supporting strategic crops and contributing to the achievement of the Kingdom’s food security
objectives.
