The Jazan branch of the National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (“Estidamah”) organized today a workshop entitled “Agricultural Irrigation Systems and Smart Irrigation Technologies,” as part of its efforts to disseminate modern agricultural knowledge and empower farmers to adopt practices and technologies that contribute to improving water-use efficiency and enhancing agricultural sustainability.
The workshop highlighted the latest agricultural irrigation systems and technologies, as well as methods for determining the water requirements of crops. It also covered smart irrigation applications, including soil moisture sensors and climate data, and their role in improving irrigation scheduling, enhancing agricultural productivity, and achieving optimal use of water resources.
The workshop aimed to enhance farmers’ knowledge of the latest irrigation management practices and introduce modern approaches that contribute to reducing water consumption, promoting sustainable agricultural development, and conserving natural resources.
The workshop forms part of the extension programs offered by the Jazan branch of the “Estidamah” Center, which seek to empower farmers to adopt modern technologies and promote sustainable agricultural practices, thereby supporting production efficiency and the sustainable management of resources.
