His Excellency the Director General of the National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah), Dr. Khalid bin Marshoud Al-Rohily, received Ms. Asmahan Elouafi, Executive Managing Director of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation in the agricultural sector and build capacities in innovation and sustainability.
During the meeting, both sides discussed avenues for joint cooperation in developing research capacities, enhancing agricultural innovation, improving crop management and water sustainability, and increasing the efficiency of irrigation technologies and practices in agriculture. The discussions also included opportunities to develop joint research projects and benefit from international experiences in applying innovative agricultural solutions, contributing to improved agricultural practices and more efficient use of water resources.
The meeting comes within Estidamah’s ongoing efforts to expand its international partnerships, develop national competencies, and promote innovation in the agricultural sector, in line with the Kingdom’s agricultural development objectives.
