The National Center for Research and Development of Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah) signed a Cooperation Agreement with Al Rajhia Agricultural Production Company (RAPCO), in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Khalid bin Marshood Al-Rohily, Director General of Estidamah, and His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ali Al-Orainee, Chief Executive Officer of RAPCO.
The Agreement seeks to boost cooperation between the two entities in developing and supporting the agricultural sector across the Kingdom, through the implementation of applied research and studies, the transfer and localization of advanced agricultural technologies, and the promotion of palm cultivation and date production. The Agreement also focuses on developing sustainable agricultural production systems that enhance productivity and support food security objectives.
The Agreement constitutes a significant milestone in unifying efforts in agricultural research and development, knowledge transfer, and localization of modern technologies, which can be achieved by the implementation of field research projects, the development of training materials, the organization of awareness workshops for farmers, and the exchange of data and expertise of mutual interest.
The Agreement further supports the development of innovative solutions for managing agricultural waste resulting from palm cultivation and date production, through its conversion into biochar, organic fertilizers, and bioenergy. It also includes the preparation of joint publications and reports that showcase the efforts of both parties in promoting sustainable agriculture.
This initiative is aligned with Estidamah's drive to evolve the agricultural research and technology system and enhance collaboration with leading national companies, thereby contributing to the development of agricultural regions and enhancing their production efficiency, in support of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 objectives for food security and sustainable development.
