The National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture held a workshop titled "Appropriate Fertilization Programs to Improve Coffee Production in the Kingdom" in the Jazan region, in cooperation with the Saudi Coffee Company, with the participation of a number of local and international specialists and experts.
Prof. Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Sugair, Director General of the National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture, delivered the opening remarks at the workshop, during which he emphasized that “developing and advancing agricultural practices in the Kingdom, and harnessing scientific research and innovation to achieve sustainable agriculture, is a core focus of the National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture," adding: “This distinguished workshop embodies the commitment of Estidamah and the Saudi Coffee Company to promoting this approach."
The workshop aimed to develop agricultural practices and boost coffee production in the Kingdom by introducing specialists and farmers to the latest coffee cultivation techniques, sustainable practices, and innovative soil fertilization methods.
Experts emphasized the importance of identifying appropriate fertilization programs to boost coffee production in the Kingdom. They also reviewed the latest practical experiences in feeding coffee trees, improving soil fertility, and enhancing crop quality.
The workshop came as part of the National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture and the Saudi Coffee Company's commitment to promoting sustainable practices in the Kingdom's coffee sector at all stages of production, ensuring the sustainability of coffee cultivation and production and developing the coffee industry in the Kingdom.
