The Jazan Branch of the National Center for Sustainable Agriculture Research and Development (Estidamah) participated in a training program entitled “Fertilization,” implemented by the Jazan Branch of the National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases (Weqaa) as part of the Farmers Field School activities. The program was held at the farm of Ali Ibrahim Sawadi in the Jazan Region.
The program comes within the framework of joint efforts to enhance farmers’ agricultural practices and raise awareness of the importance of balanced fertilization based on the actual needs of crops. This contributes to improving production quality, maintaining soil fertility, and optimizing fertilizer use.
The program covered a number of technical and extension topics, including modern fertilization methods, identifying crop nutrient requirements, and best practices for fertilizer application. It also highlighted sound agricultural practices that support agricultural sustainability and reduce negative environmental impacts.
Program organizers emphasized the importance of continuing field-based and awareness programs to transfer technical knowledge and expertise to farmers and enable them to adopt modern agricultural best practices. Such efforts contribute to the development of the agricultural sector, improved production efficiency, and the achievement of sustainable agricultural development objectives in the Jazan Region.
