The National Center for Sustainable Agriculture Research and Development (Estidamah) showcased today sustainable technologies and practices for greenhouse agriculture, highlighting key solutions addressing the challenges of protected agriculture in drylands. The session was organized as part of its participation in the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP17), held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The session, titled “Sustainable Technologies for Greenhouses and Key Challenges Facing Protected Agriculture in Drylands,” discussed the main environmental and climatic challenges facing protected production systems in arid regions, as well as the importance of developing solutions and technologies suited to the specific conditions of these environments and capable of contributing to sustainable agricultural production.
The session also addressed the role of modern technologies and sustainable agricultural practices in improving the management of agricultural resources and inputs, enhancing the efficiency of production processes, and strengthening the ability of protected agriculture systems to withstand diverse environmental and climatic conditions.
The session was organized as part of Estidamah’s efforts to share research and applied knowledge and expertise, and to showcase sustainable agricultural solutions at international forums, thereby promoting the exchange of experiences in addressing the challenges of agriculture in drylands.
