Dr. Mustafa Qorai participated in the 9th International Forum on Arid Zone and Oasis Agriculture and its accompanying exhibition, titled “Resource Management and Technological Innovations for Sustainable Agriculture in Arid and Desert Regions,” held from 26 to 28 March 2026 on Djerba Island, Tunisia.
The event was organized by the Laboratory of Dryland Agriculture and Oasis Farming at the Institute of Arid Regions in Medenine, in collaboration with several national and international partners. The forum recorded a total of 211 participants.
The scientific program of the conference focused on five main sessions:
1. Biodiversity in the face of climate change and genetic resources management.
2. Biotechnology for agricultural development.
3. Innovative management of water and soil resources.
4. Crop health.
5. Economic assessment of sustainable agricultural systems.
Dr. Mustafa’s participation included his contribution to the opening panel session, where he represented the Research and Development Department at the National Center for Sustainable Agriculture Research and Development (Estidamah). During the session, he delivered an introductory presentation about the Center and its key initiatives.
He also co-chaired the first scientific session alongside Dr. Mohamed Dabouba, Vice President of the University of Gabes.
