The National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Center for Organic Agriculture during the 2026 Organic Agriculture Forum, held at the headquarters of the National Center for Organic Agriculture in Unaizah Governorate, Al-Qassim Region, under the theme “Plant with Awareness… Harvest a Healthy Environment.” The MoU aims to strengthen joint efforts in research and scientific fields, facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge, and develop practices and solutions that support organic agriculture and sustainable agricultural production in the Kingdom.
Dr. Khalid bin Marshoud Al-Rahili, Director General of Estidamah, affirmed that the MoU represents a national framework for integrating research and development efforts with the organic agriculture ecosystem. He noted that it will help accelerate the transfer of scientific research outcomes to farms and practical applications, while enhancing the Center’s role in supporting the Kingdom’s objectives for sustainable agricultural production and food security.
The MoU aims to strengthen integration between the two parties and leverage their available research and technical expertise and capabilities, contributing to the advancement of agricultural knowledge, supporting innovation and technology transfer, and linking research and development outcomes to practical applications that serve the organic agriculture sector.
The MoU covers several areas of joint cooperation, including identifying and implementing projects of mutual interest, exchanging scientific data and information as well as agricultural technical knowledge, and utilizing the research facilities, laboratories, and expertise available to both parties. These efforts will enhance the integration of research and technical capabilities and support the development of practical solutions.
It also includes the implementation of joint training programs, workshops, and scientific activities, as well as cooperation in innovation, technology transfer, and digital transformation. In addition, the two parties will collaborate on scientific publications and participate in relevant conferences, exhibitions, and events.
The MoU forms part of Estidamah’s efforts to expand its partnerships with specialized national entities, strengthen the integration of research and development with the needs of the agricultural sector, and transfer knowledge and technologies into practical applications that contribute to advancing agricultural practices and enhancing the sustainability of organic agriculture in the Kingdom.
