The National Center for Sustainable Agriculture Research and Development (Estidamah), as part of the Kingdom’s delegation, participated in the Green Development and Sustainability Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which was inaugurated in the city of Ningbo, People’s Republic of China. The Center’s participation included a scientific presentation highlighting the key challenges facing the agricultural sector in the Kingdom, as well as opportunities for cooperation with the Chinese side in leveraging modern technologies to support innovation and enhance agricultural sustainability.
The lecture addressed several themes related to the current state of the agricultural sector, including the efficient use of natural resources, the adoption of modern technological solutions, and the development of sustainable agricultural practices. These efforts contribute to improving production efficiency, strengthening food security, and supporting the Kingdom’s sustainable agricultural development objectives.
Estidamah’s participation within the Kingdom’s delegation emphasized the importance of expanding international cooperation and exchanging expertise and knowledge with specialized research and scientific entities. This aims to support the development of innovative solutions to agricultural challenges and enhance opportunities to benefit from successful international experiences in the fields of sustainable agriculture and advanced technologies.
The forum serves as an international platform bringing together experts, decision-makers, and relevant stakeholders to discuss green development pathways and low-carbon transition, accelerate scientific and technological innovation, and strengthen cooperation in environmental and sustainability fields among participating countries.
