Eng. Awaji bin Haider Abu Al-Ghaith, Director of the National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah) Branch in Jazan Region, received today at the branch premises Eng. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mujthal, Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture Branch in the region. The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation and integration between the two sides and support joint efforts to advance the agricultural sector in the region.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the Center’s areas of work and its research and applied pathways, as well as its technical and scientific capabilities and key programs and projects. They also discussed the Center’s achievements, activities, and services in the fields of agricultural research and development, along with scientific trials and studies conducted at the branch’s agricultural experimental fields, as well as extension and awareness services provided to farmers.
The meeting also explored opportunities to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise and knowledge, while integrating efforts in research, applied, and agricultural extension fields. These efforts aim to support farmers, improve agricultural productivity and efficiency, and promote the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices and technologies, in line with the region’s agricultural development objectives.
Following the meeting, a field tour was conducted, including a visit to the branch’s laboratories, where the delegation reviewed the facilities, technical capabilities, and technologies used in conducting agricultural analyses, studies, and research. The tour also included the agricultural experimental fields, where an overview was provided of the key research and applied trials being conducted, along with their most significant findings and outcomes that contribute to advancing agricultural production and supporting the agricultural sector in the region.
