The National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture, in cooperation with NEOM Food Company “Topian", concluded the activities of the second edition of the “Training in Greenhouse Management" program, which was held at the Center's headquarters in Riyadh from 24 to 28 August 2025.

The program saw the participation of 30 trainees from among recent graduates, researchers, and agricultural practitioners within the national cadres, through a five-day training program that included 40 hours of theoretical and practical training delivered by a number of local and international experts.

The program addressed topics such as the operation of advanced climate control systems, smart irrigation applications, crop monitoring technologies, and innovative solutions to rationalize water and energy consumption, in addition to reviewing mechanisms for dealing with environmental challenges related to soil and crop health.

The Director General of the National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture, Dr. Khalid bin Marshoud Al-Ruhailey, affirmed that the program reflects the Center's orientation towards linking scientific research with practical applications in the agricultural sector.

He pointed out that qualifying national cadres is a fundamental pillar in developing agricultural production and enhancing the sector's sustainability, and that such programs contribute to the transfer and localization of the latest agricultural technologies within the Kingdom, in a way that supports food security and enhances the efficiency of natural resources.

The organization of the second edition of the program comes within a series of initiatives that the Center continues to implement, with the aim of enabling researchers, practitioners, and recent graduates to acquire advanced knowledge and modern practical applications that enhance their ability to adopt sustainable solutions and develop the agricultural sector.
