The workshop series begin Wednesday corresponding to September 28, 2022 by hosting 25 farmers from Al-Jouf Province. The workshop included many panel discussions and lectures, in which researchers from Estidamah, the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture (MEWA), and the Dutch Wageningen University participate. During these discussions, the members review a number of research outputs, shedding the light on the best practices in the field of agriculture. The recommendations and ideas presented by framers will also be studies and discussed, which may enhance the agricultural sustainability, upgrade the agricultural sector, and develop the farmers’ agricultural culture as per the Kingdom 2030 Vision and the National Strategy for Agriculture.
The National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah) organizes specialized workshop series on two days at Estidamah’s headquarter in Riyadh entitled “Enhancement of Sustainable Agriculture” with the participation of farmers from different regions in the Kingdom. These workshops, amounting to thirteen, aims at raising the awareness of the agricultural practices and methods achieving sustainable agriculture in the Kingdom and discussing the technical and applied aspects that contribute to increasing the agricultural production.
It is worth mentioning that this workshop comes as an extension of Estidamah’s policy in conveying and nationalizing knowledge in the field of agriculture, cooperating with Estidamah's partners to reach joint objectives, and harnessing the applied research to serve the agricultural sector in the Kingdom, contributing to promoting the agricultural production and achieving food security.
